മറുപടിഇല്ലാതാക്കൂchitrabanu.. 1/7 american in poverty. the proverty in US is not for food though.. :) if you are willing to work, you can get decent money in us. those who are not able to work get food stamps. $175 food stamp a month or so.. I dont spend $200 monthly for grocery alone :)

minimum wage for a worker in a coffee shop or a store $7.50/hour.
ie a worker makes about $75 a day, if you are willing to work.
if you learn any work like plumping/wiring/salon/painting etc.. the wage is about $40per hour.
